Philly Cheesesteaks - Pat's vs. Geno's

On a recent trip we stopped in Philadelphia and tried both Pat's (on the left) and Geno's (on the right) Cheesesteaks. We ordered the same at both location: Mushroom Cheesesteak Wit (with onions) and Whiz (with Cheese Whiz) Here are the results of our taste test:

Beef : Geno's was better. The beef was left whole and not chopped up. Seasoned better as well
Mushrooms: Pat's was better. Real mushrooms. Geno's was the fake canned kind
Onions: Pat's was better. Caramelized and sweeter. Geno's still had bite to them
Whiz: Geno's was better. They put it on the bottom of the bread and the hot meat on top which makes for a juicier sandwich. Pat's just shmears it on top
Presentation: No contest, Pat's just looked better
Flavor: Geno's because of the better seasoned beef and the Whiz on the bottom

Winner: I picked Geno's. Jessica picked Pat's. The tiebreaker went to the kids and they chose Geno's because there were less pigeons.

Unfortunately, local college student Maggie could not join us as she had class. John was in town taking a class but had lunch plans with Matt Regan. They may have eaten here later that night after the bars closed.

Have you ever tried these sandwiches?

I have had both, but am not in a position to comment since it was 2:00 am or worse on each occasion.
