Parea

Last night, the McCormick siblings and their significant others (Minus Officer Delmar, who was working the beat) went out for a Greek meal in Manhattan to 2 star Parea on 20th St. We started the meal with Mezedes (Greek tapas) of Pickled Octopus, Zuchini fritters, Crispy Pork Belly, and Crispy Lamb Brain Salad. The favorite at the table seemed to be the pork and the least favorite was.. well you can guess. The appetizers were next with lobster stuffed grape leaves, grilled lambs heart, roasted eggplant, and baked greek cheese. A mix of entrees from Whole roasted red snapper wrapped in grape leaves (eyes eaten by Elaine and Eddie) to braised veal stuffed with sausage (missing the crispy artichokes to Brendans chagrin) to skate and hangar steak. We split desserts of donut holes with honey, milk pie and rice pudding and washed it down with some Ouzo. One member of the group got a little tipsy from the ouzo and was laughing uncontrollably as if he had just drank liquid marajuana. Other than that, a good time was had by all.

The MVP award goes to Katherine Delmar who tried everything (including the lambs brain and heart), yet made the biggest face when trying the snapper. Segui!!
